Program

Background on COEURE:

The COEURE Coordination Action (which stands for COoperation for EUropean Research in Economics) brings together the key stakeholders in the European economic research space – funders, policy-makers and researchers – in a process of stocktaking, consultation and stakeholder collaboration. The aim of this process is to identify the knowledge gaps on key EU economic policy issues and assess the current challenges and opportunities facing European-based researchers, with the ultimate goal to inform the European agenda for research funding. It is funded by the European Commission and carried out under the initiative of the European Economic Association.

Objectives of the workshop:
The workshop is a key element in this collaborative process of stockholding on the theme of “R&D, innovation, and growth.” It will bring together a small group of high level scholars active in these areas as well as high level policy-makers and other stakeholders to:
1. discuss the research frontier in these areas,
2. discuss policy experience and policy challenges in R&D, innovation and growth,  with the objectives to form a grounded view on the role of scientific advice in EU policy decision-making,
3. document and discuss the state of European research on these themes and the challenges and opportunities facing European-based researchers.
